UnitedSikhs

Our Story

UNITED SIKHS began in 1997 when a group of Sikhs from the New York metropolitan area banded together to assist in the socio-economic development of immigrant communities in Queens, New York. As a result of the rapid influx of many unskilled and under-educated immigrants into American urban centers, there has been a significant increase in the number of socially and economically-disadvantaged communities throughout the United States.

UNITED SIKHS was founded as a grass-roots organization committed to the upliftment of these neglected communities. UNITED SIKHS draws members from many different walks of life and occupations, who share a devotion to a common vision.

Today UNITED SIKHS has offices in America, Asia and Europe which pursue similar projects for the spiritual social and economic upliftment of underprivileged and minority communities.

The driving force for civic responsibility that permeates UNITED SIKHS is based on the Sikh teachings of sarbat da bhela - service for the good of all - irrespective of race, religion creed, sex or age.
