Interfaith Seminar: Sikh Diaspora and its role in a Multi-Cultural Society

Atlanta, GA - As a part of its series of interfaith seminars all across the United States, UNITED SIKHS is organizing a seminar on "Sikh Diaspora in midst of Multi-Cultural Society" at the Gurudwara Sikh Study Circle on Sunday, April 25th. This seminar will focus on methods to deal with issues like racial discrimination and prejudice. It will also throw light on the indomitable spirit of tolerance of the today's Sikhs, as they co-exist with an extremely diverse society. This seminar will address the problems that school going Sikhs boys and girls face in everyday life.

Speaker Patwant Kaur is a reputed ESL teacher trainer by profession. She works with people dealing with racial prejudice. Her areas of research include "Causes of prejudice". She will emphasize on techniques to counter effects of prejudice and racial discrimination.

Speaker Gurcharan Singh is the President and Spokesperson of Sikh Study Circle. He will enlighten the audience with the Gurbani aspect of the seminar topic. Gurbani teaches tolerance and endurance to face the world.

The audience will be from various communities. This interactive seminar is designed to address the problems of school going Sikh students. Join us to learn more about growing prejudice and intolerance in our society
