Fifth Shipment Loaded on Ship for Campbell Bay

Harbhajan Singh, UNITED SIKHS, New Delhi along with Bhai Esher Singh and other volunteers loaded a shipment of 72 boxes (2 tons), 7 bundles and 10 containers of pickles into a ship to Campbell Bay. 35 boxes out of 72 were shipped from Washington DC, USA, which were 'stuck' with a custom officer at the Chennai International Airport warehouse. It took 3 weeks to convince the officers and get the clearance. "It appeared as if a battle has been won" said Harbhajan Singh after loading the Shipment from the warehouse. Custom officers opened the boxes randomly to verify the contents. They had to go through lot of paper work at the customs office.

Details of contents of Shipment:
  • Cloths, woolen garments (shawl), and Towels
  • Shoes
  • Turbans and 5 Kakkars
  • Utensils for cooking
  • Milk Powder Nestle - 31 Boxes
  • Cerelac Milk (Baby Food) - 10 Boxes
  • Colgate tooth paste and Tooth Brushes- 10 boxes
