Gurdaspur, Panjab: UNITED SIKHS saw the urgent need for medical and health services for villagers who have not seen a doctor for many years. Due to tensions at border area districts in Gurdaspur and Taran Tarn in October 2016 many villagers at evacuation camps have neglected their health, this caused major concern to our volunteers who visited the villagers.

In late April I had the privilege of sharing Sikh values and practices with an interfaith community during a trip to the Oinofyta Refugee Camp in Greece. UNITED SIKHS is actively involved in the St Ethelburga's Sacred Activism program in London. As part of the program, participants from various faith groups came together to discuss spiritual practices and learned how to apply them to make changes in the world.

Ontario: Every time you give blood, you save a life. It was with that goal in mind that the UNITED SIKHS coordinated blood donation events at Heartland Blood Clinic in Mississauga. The camps were held on the 8th and 15th of October 2016 and had a very large volunteer and community turnout.
UNITED SIKHS' Disaster Preparedness & Humanitarian Aid, volunteers and staff held an "Emergency Preparedness for the Gurudwaras" workshop at the Lankershim Gurudwara Sahib. This Emergency Preparedness Initiative provides solutions and guidance that help the Gurudwaras and its members know in advance what to do when confronted by an emergency, a natural disaster or by violence in their communities.

Fabriano, Italy: UNITED SIKHS' Rishiwant Singh landed in Italy on August 30, 2016 to provide relief to the earthquake victims. An earthquake, measuring 6.2 ± 0.016 on the moment magnitude scale, hit Central Italy on 24 August 2016 at 03:36:32 CEST (01:36 UTC) causing a lot of destruction to the life and the property. A total of 292 people were reported dead. Of the 292 victims, 242 were from Amatrice and Accumoli.

Ludhiana, Punjab: A 40-day Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program on Garment Manufacturing organized by UNITED SIKHS kicked off on June 02, 2016 at village Dhamot in Ludhiana where the participants will be trained in garment manufacturing. Alberta, Canada: Wildfires have destroyed at least 1,600 homes in Alberta, Canada, and forced the mandatory evacuation of 88,000 people -- including the entire city of Fort McMurray. Thousands of evacuees are camped out in nearby towns but stand little chance of returning soon, even if their homes are intact.
UNITED SIKHS partnered with Sri Guru Singh Sabha - Glen Rock Gurudwara in Glen Rock, New Jersey to provide a little warmth to the residents of Bergen County Housing by donating blankets and shoes.
Elderly UK Flood Victims Helped by UNITED SIKHS

UNITED SIKHS volunteers had turned to help her clean up after the floods and to offer some hot snacks. "Thank you so much for all the help you have given us cleaning up and delivering food door to door to the elderly residents here," said local resident, Scott Hope, whose house has been severely hit by the floods.

Nepal is still vivid in my imagination. I reached Nepal on 28th April, 2015; just three days after the first major earthquake. I was one of the first team members of the UNITED SIKHS team in Nepal. To reach Nepal at its need of hour was crucial, it took me many hours to reach Kathamandu because of congestion. Finally I reached Kathamandu where we set our base camp at Gurdwara Nanak Satsang at Kupondole.

In this seminar audience was made aware of the types of addictions, reasons for use and abuse. How to stop the abuse of these drugs was discussed in detail.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are humbled to share with you that UNITED SIKHS GurKirpa Health Network has officially been inaugurated in Panjab and has already treated over 1000 patients, 40 of which were children.
“The literacy rate among Sikhs and other minority communities in Peshawar, especially for girls, is very poor. Girls in the tribal areas seldom get the opportunity to go to school due to the war against terrorism and poor socioeconomic status of the community in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Administrator Tribal Areas (FATA).
