ALERT To Gurudwaras - Be Vigilant

"Given the current climate of our country, and other parts of the world, we advise Gurudwaras to step up their security measures, especially following Sunday's deadly mosque attack in Quebec, " Gurvinder Singh, Director for the UNITED SIKHS said. Following the Quebec shooting, America's largest police force, the NYPD, announced it would provide additional protection for mosques in New York city. UNITED SIKHS is also asking worshippers in Gurdwaras to be vigilant.

UNITED SIKHS continues to monitor the track and potential impact Tropical Storm Hermine will have on our area tomorrow and through next week. It is expected to produce a dangerous storm surge with life threatening coastal flooding and strong winds near the Delaware and New Jersey coasts over the Labor Day weekend.

UNITED SIKHS is partnering with the New York City Mayor's Office of Community Affairs and the Sikh Cultural Society, Inc to host a the Thive NYC forum on mental health on Thursday 1st September 2016. The Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives Richard Buery will lead a panel discussion on Thrive NYC, the City's mental health roadmap for all.
