New Jersey/New York - To increase awareness of high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease in the Sikh American community, UNITED SIKHS organized events at two Gurdwaras, or Sikh places of worship. These awareness events took place in September of this year in partnership with Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Carteret, NJ, and Gurdwara Baba Majha Singh Karamjot Sikh Center in South Ozone Park, NY.

Sultanpuri, New Delhi, India - Seventy excited kids got off the bus on their first day at their new school on 14th July 2014. It was their sheer commitment and sweat, which made them brush up on their lessons at daily tuition classes during the Indian summer holidays that got them a place in the Budh Vihar JSS Khalsa School.
Peshawar, Pakistan: UNITED SIKHS extended its STARAE scholarship project, in September 2013, to needy students from families who are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Peshawar. After three months 75% of the 39 STARAE scholars have shown an improvement in their studies and 90 percent have achieved ‘A’ grades in their term test.
New York, USA: UNITED SIKHS urges the Sikh community globally to mark today, Diabetes Alert Day as a “wake-up call” and take the diabetes screening test to find out if they are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
