Interfaith, in collaboration with UNITED SIKHS organizes Unity Walk 911 in New York City

UNITED SIKHS participated in the Unity Walk 911 NYC on September 9th held in New York City. The 9/11 Unity Walk is an event that strives to involve members of our mutual religious communities in this building up of understanding and cooperation between religious traditions and faiths. The Unity Walks have occurred for many years in Washington D.C, New York City, and other US communities.

People from different faiths and communities gathered and walked from Washington Square Park , visiting several religious communities along its path, and concluded at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church at Barclay St, adjoining the WTC site. There were Ribbons of Hope Banners at the Church and every participant contributed by signing one with a message on peace and harmony.

“It was indeed a very touching experience to be invited by Broome St. Temple to speak at their place of Worship. This truly signifies how we all stand in unity today” said Jasminder Kaur, Project Manager at UNITED SIKHS, one of the sponsors for the event.
