Livermore: Sikh families claim discrimination at Boomers go-kart track

AMRITSAR: Sikh body, United Sikhs has extended scholarship to 39 needy students from families who were internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Peshawar, Pakistan, informed, director, United Sikhs, Mejinderpal Kaur on Tuesday.

Amongst the 39 students supported by United Sikhs includes children of Jaspal Singh who was brutally beheaded by Taliban in 2010. "Within three months, the students have shown an improvement in their studies and have achieved 'A' grade in their term test," she claimed.

Under the project, she informed that extra tuition was given to weak students and written tests were conducted for all scholars by United Sikhs in order to monitor their progress.
