Protect Our Identity (POI) Campaign- This campaign is an on-going campaign since the time of the inception of the Khalsa in 1699. UNITED SIKHS takes upon itself, the role as a fundamental right to protect our Identity. This is an ongoing international campaign of UNITED SIKHS. It focuses on the need to protect the community's right to express its religious identity. Initiatives under the POI campaign include:

Right to Turban: Today the remit of the Right To Turban campaign covers the Right To Turban issue in any country where Sikhs are denied their right to wear their Turban. If you, or anyone you know, has been denied the right to wear his/her turban, please do not hesitate to contact a UNITED SIKHS office nearest to you.

Airport Security in European Union and United States: After 9/11 the landscape under the name of security has changed in major countries and has also challenged on the Civil and Human Rights of their people. Transport Security Authority (TSA) is seeking to expand the airport experience to every day human life as per the The Los Angeles Times today reports on the TSA's VIPR program. This directly has an impact on our communities.

Anti-Bullying Initiatives: UNITED SIKHS undertook four projects to identify the impact of bullying on Sikh children: 1) Bullying Prevention Survey; 2) Youth Needs Assessment Focus Group; 3) Global Sikh Civil & Human Rights Survey 2010; and 4) Anti-Bullying Truth Commission. The goal of these projects was to illuminate the pervasiveness of bullying in the Sikh community and the importance of addressing bullying as a civil rights issue.

Rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Pakistan: UNITED SIKHS Helps 'Taliban' Victims (Sikh Mother and Daughter) Find Asylum in Canada. There are many seeking such assistance and need your help.

Equality in Employment : UNITED SIKHS is working with the EEOC together across the nation to end employment Discrimination Against Sikhs. We receive on an average 15 cases that are related to cases dealing with Equality in Employment. We can't get them justice without your help.

Right to Kakaars: UNITED SIKHS Works Across the Country to Address Civil Rights Violations

Recognition of Sikhs as a Religion and Ethnicity in UK and US Census: UNITED SIKHS has petitioned to disaggregate Sikhs correctly in the 2010 census and future census data products.

Raising Awareness of Sikhs and Sikhism to reduce acts of violence and xenophobia against Sikhs: Sikh Awareness Through Libraries (SATL) aims to improve the availability of information on Sikh culture, historyand religion via multimedia resources - books, DVDs, CDs and microfilms. Under the SATL project, these resources will be made available in public and private libraries, including those in schools, universities and other educational institutions, throughout the world. The objective of the project is to reach out to various demographics through multiple media to provide global access to reliable and complete information on Sikhs.
