Invitation-5th Global Sikh Civil & Human Rights Conference 2013

UNITED SIKHS invites you to the 5th Annual Global Sikh Civil and Human Rights Conference!

Highlights

Five years after the First Global Sikh Civil and Human Rights Conference that challenged the laws in France banning ostensible religious symbols in schools and on photograph identification as well as maintaining dignity in the post 9/11 world, UNITED SIKHS is honored to be holding the 5th Annual Global Sikh Civil and Human Rights Conference in Bobigny France on August 16th and August 17th.

UNITED SIKHS invites you to the 5th Global Sikh Civil and Human Rights Conference in 2013. The theme for the conference this year is "Justice Delayed is Justice Denied", building upon the landmark decision of the UNHRC in 76 year old French resident Ranjit Singh's turban case. Community leaders and members will engage in a dialogue with experts, government representatives, multifaith representatives, human rights lawyers, and academicians on the above theme and on topics of Sikh Civil and Human Rights.5th Global Conference

The Conference will deliberate and determine how Sikhs should respond to:

  1. The Turban ban in Europe
  2. 1984 Pogroms against Sikhs
  3. Death Penalty
  4. Preserving Sikh Heritage and Providing a Holistic Education

The global conference provides a unique opportunity for both community leaders and members to engage in a dialogue with experts, advocates, authors, and academics about the pressing civil and human rights issues that most affect the Sikh community. Not only does the conference provide a stimulating and thought provoking forum to learn about the current state of civil and human rights for Sikh communities around the world, it also galvanizes the community to act together in developing solutions and resolutions to combat discrimination in all forms. Do not miss the opportunity to be a part of this discussion! REGISTER NOW.

Whether it is through our annual Global Conference bringing together human and civil rights advocates from around the world or through our Annual Global and Civil Rights Report, we continue to shed light on the most pressing issues of the global Sikh nation, and continue to fight for the free practice of the Sikh faith.
